Briefly about Skovde

Skövde is the seat of Skövde Municipality in Västergötland. The town is situated between two of the Sweden's largest lakes, Vänern and Vättern.

The history of Skövde stretches back to the Middle Ages, though not much remained of the medieval town, as ti was mainly burned down in a devastating fire in the 18th century. The city was later rebuilt but really truly flourished only when the western main railway was built. It gave the city an immense economic boost.
