Briefly about Mo-I-Rana
Mo is a town in the municipality of Rana, located just south of the Arctic Circle. The town is also referred to as Mo i Rana, though that is not the official name. It is only used to distinguish the town from other towns named Mo.
The area has been inhabited by farmers since the Iron Age. The main sources of income have traditionally been mining, building boats and fishing.
The oldest building in Mo i Rana is the Mo Church from 1724 and is made of wood. Another interesting sight is the stone sculpture of The Man from the Sea made by Antony Gormley, which is a part of Artscape Nordland. There are a couple of museums in Mo which also might be worth a visit.
