Briefly about Eskilstuna

Eskilstuna is located on the River Eskilstunaån which connects Lake Hjälmaren and Lake Mälaren. Its history goes back to the medieval times when Saint Eskil made the town of Tuna his base and built a monastery here. Eskiltuna is the combination of his name and the name of the town.
