Bad Vilbel, »The city of many springs« as its slogan proclaims, was founded in 774, though even older artifacts were found in this area. The city is mostly know as a spa town with mineral water and thermal springs, and its surroundings with the river Nidda flowing through the city, are surely a sight for sore eyes.
Mostly a health and spa town, it does have a few historic buildings as well. In 1848 a Roman villa was found, with Thermae and a mosaic, the replica of which you can see nowadays in the spa gardens and the Old Townhouse dates back to the 15th century. After a relaxing dip in the thermal waters, a stroll through the city will be rejuvenating.
